or
「さまざまなこと思い出す桜かな　芭蕉」
written in 元禄元年（１６８８）, one year before he left for the Narrow Road to the North.

こんな詞書（ことばがき）が付されている
with this subscript:
「探丸子（たんがんし）の君、別墅（べっしょ＝下屋敷のこと）の花見もよはさせ給ひけるに、昔のあともさながらにて」
in modern Japanese
「探丸子の君が上野の下屋敷で花見の宴を開かれたのに招かれて行けば、そこは昔の宴もさながらにて」
