The Tanabata Star Festival passed behind clouds last night ... but the events are still going strong in Hiratsuka and other places.

Greetings from cloudy Nagoya.
I like this ku a lot, escpecially the use of numbers for the tanabata festival date, and the capitalized OH. It almost makes me think of dialing a phone number.
.hard to see the beloveds' stars in a cloudy night sky, eh? We just have to believe they're out there, this one night a year.

oh, I missed this date during my hectic schedule, otherwise i would have celebrated it as i love numbers like these.
i guess this haiku will always need a footnote to make naive international readers like me aware that it does celebrate the Star Festival.

yes, there were several events here on that special day...supposed to be a lucky date!
Do you think this would also work with "star festival" as line 1?
(Since I see that it's on different dates.)
