no fireflies

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

every night I go outside and check for them, but tonight was special

no fireflies -
only moonlight reflects
on camellia leaves

It looked as if they were hiding in the bush,
changing with my every move.

Lovely Gabi... you draw our attention to light in line 1, then you amaze us with the look and smell of it all in the rest of the poem.
Lovely. D.

If you would have submitted this haiku for the last Calico Cat contest, you could have won one of my sumi-e :)
