This snow is very heavy and damaging for the plants.
I hope to be out for photos later, now it is six in the morning
and I hear the sound of breaking branches outside.
The bamboo in the grove hang their heads soooo low !
And more snow in the forecast until tomorrow !

And the big gingko tree in Kamakura has fallen ... what a storm that was !

Gabi-sama, just wrote something with bamboo bent in snow in it yesterday.
Two haiku, one by Buson and easy to find and one I had searched out from Chiyo's zenshu which might be hard to find are pasted below in japanese
愚に耐へよと窓を暗うす雪の竹
蕪村 貧居八詠より
雪で曲がった竹の傑作は、千代女の「そっと来る物に気づくや竹の雪」となるが、上記の蕪村句の方が狂句。
