crows

03 graves

autumn equinox -
all the crows celebrating
with grave offerings

The sky was full of them, almost like THE BIRDS!
They move from grave to grave, eat the offerings and move on to the next.

All farm houses here have their own little ancestor graveyards, so there is plenty of food after the equinox offerings by the living.

Thanks. Natural and good observation. Crows take the offer- who else?
Best wishes,

Here is my crow haiku that I wrote recently while on a trip in Eastern Province:

We observed carcasses in the thorny and dusty thickets and grass between Athi River and Machakos-Mombasa Road Roundabout.

dusty grassland--
pelicans rendezvous
on a rotting carcass

dusty bushes--
pied crows feast
on carcasses
