I know what you mean (and I really like these),
but I find "late snow" not quite specific enough for me...
did it come late in the day?
I'm pretty sure you mean near
winter's end... but for me anyway, it comes off being a little
unclear.

Two little beauties.
For me, the primary meaning of "late snow" is seasonal.
Referring to a time of day, I'd say "evening snow," "snow at twilight," and the like.

This morning, we have no snow and the weather is turning warmer... the sounds of spring increase with the sunrise!
