spring begins -
a dead sparrow
at my doorstep

Japanese Haiku -
how important it seems
to be different !

haru ni naru . it becomes spring

This is a sad poem for Spring. Hope all is well with you.

very touching, Gabi. Poor sparrow, Time waits for none!
May the soul soar high and transcend all that changes.

Thanks for your kind comments.
Princess, we are all well, thanks so much. It was my cat Haiku kun bringing a "present" ... and also in memory of a friend who had misfortunes in his life.

Quite an eye-opener, Gabi.
The last time, not so long ago, when we had dead sparrows here, was when we had a heat wave in late spring.
I hope we don't get that for another long spell.

I like this one too.

We have quite a few birds in our yard, and, until we put some visual clues on the glass, every spring one or two used to fly into our picture window.

Usually they would break their neck when they did that. I asked the folks at the seed store what was behind this seasonal behavior, and they said it was juveniles who were newly fledged who usually do that.
Anyhow, this 'ku reminded me of that phenomenon.

Hi Gabi...
This is a stunning write. I had a cat once, that would bring a half of mouse to our back door and the other half to our neighbor's. LOL At first, we didn't know where the other half was... ugh... but soon we found out from the neighbor
they were getting a half of mouse. We all "put two and two together" (lol) and knew the answer.
