Make friends with your fears.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Do you remember the things
you were worrying about a year ago?
How did they work out?
Didn't you waste a lot of fruitless energy
on account of most of them?
Didn't most of them turn out all right after all?

Dale Carnegie

Worry a little bit every day
and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years.
If something is wrong, fix it if you can.
But train yourself not to worry.
Worry never fixes anything.

Mary Hemingway

"When I run away from the monster,
the monster gets larger,
but the nearer I get to it,
the smaller it becomes."

. A monster called "what might happen" .

In my mind's eye
I invite my fears into my loving embrace.
I acknowledge the protection
my fears have offered me in the past.

As I recognize the power of love within me,
I no longer need the protection of my fears.
I gently release the fears and invite in
the strength and courage of my inner power.

I see myself going through my day fearless,
knowing that the power of love protects me.

Anxiety is the rust of life,
destroying its brightness
and weakening its power.
A childlike and abiding trust in Providence
is its best preventive and remedy.

Tyron Edwards

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

We never encounter a mountain greater than doubt.
Doubt is a deceiver.
It is as a thief in the night.
Remove it,
do not let it come nigh your dwelling.

Frater Achad

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The only limit to our realization of tomorrow
will be our doubts of today.
Let us move forward
with strong and active faith.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Fear is a question:
What are you afraid of, and why?
Just as the seed of health is in illness,
because illness contains information,
our fears are a treasure house
of self-knowledge if we explore them.

Marilyn Ferguson

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

It is not that you must be free from fear.
The moment you try to free yourself from fear,
you create a resistance against fear.
Resistance, in any form, does not end fear.

What is needed,
rather than running away or controlling
or suppressing or any other resistance,
is understanding fear;
that means, watch it, learn about it,
come directly into contact with it.

We are to learn about fear,
not how to escape from it,
not how to resist it through courage and so on.

J. Krishnamurti

The most important thing that we can do about our fears is to acknowledge them, and then take steps to understand them and their sources.

Once we take this step, we can work to overcome them. Fears are our way of keeping ourselves "safe," but the safety brought about by fears is the false safety that we could get by locking ourselves alone in a small room for the rest of our lives.

We wouldn't ever catch the flu again or get hit by a car or face rejection, but we also never would grow into the people we were meant to be.
