Philosophy
The self is not something that one finds.
It is something that one creates.
-- Thomas Szasz (1920-)
American Psychiatrist
............................
for haiku, it is often the other way round for me:
A haiku is not something that one creates.
It is something that one finds.
How about your haiku creation process ?
............................
Dear Gabi San,
Thanks you much for your continuous help to create.
With due honour to the American psychiatrist I may say that according Indian philosophy, our belief, the divine like the tao is already present in us and outside us. We have to contact it to find ourselves. A way of thinking it may be, as the modernist may say. but it is like is-ness, am-ness.
Now the next about Haiku as you invite, I have just penned these three lines-
Everything is there;
you have to put them in the
right place to create.
Warmly-

I have kept a copy of it- haiku out of philosophic discussion.

More thoughts on philosophical haiku as opposed to pure shasei haiku
After doing a little cursory research, it seems that the term 'philosophical', when applied to haiku, is a catch-all term for haiku which: have for subject matter an idea or concept; draw a moral; present or hint at a religious belief system; incorporate metaphysical elements; etc.

Dear Gabi San,
Seeing your earthworm just now, I have just penned a haiku for you to add another flavour.
If we do our work
silently like an earthworm
the earth will be blessed.

When all is clean, turn around, just to see another leaf fallen on the path ...

Many trees are rotting away here in our woods around the house. Maybe the typhoon of two years ago is finally showing its results as the half-uprooted trees struggle to survive. Or the tons of chemicals in the fields around the wood ...
