  1. The little village makes me think of this Basho haiku:

    yogi wa omoshi
    go ten ni yuki o
    miru ara n

    such heavvy quilts
    snow in the far country
    is surely visible

    (wish there was another translation --anyway, monsters are lurking in the far off hills)

    smell of good soup--
    surely monsters
    are hiding in the hills
