I can feel the sap rising.

Thank you Gabi. I have never seen a woodpecker for real but I have heard about them. I like raps as it reminds me of the energetic dancers and I think that is what the woodpecker is - energetic.

    Hello, Gabi-san,
Love the double meaning of "raps" in this.
May you have lots of sunshine while winter is winding down.

    Good one, Gabi!
I like that sound too. We have a type of woodpecker here called a Northern Flicker -- they like to rap on the eaves of the apartment building...there must be a few bugs around despite the cold!

(My area is in the top portion of their year-round zone.)

Hi Gabi! I guess you're a little ahead , with the weather. Nice moment here. I wonder if he's nest building or territory marking. Either way a sure sign of spring. Cheers !

I liked it, Gabi san, I saw a woodpecker the other day and thought of spring. too It wasn't rapping the tree though, just flying around. Perhaps, it was looking for a nice rotten bough.

  5. I miss that sound.

I have lost woodpeckers, but I have gained the laughing kookaburra (sounds like a monkey to unknowing visiters), and the bell bird (which sounds like a very short but resonant bell chime.)
