In 水無月 June he went into the mountains with his friends. There a huge serpent came out. He put his fingers in its mouth and wanted to stretch it wide open, but cuold not. So he used a sickle to cut through its mouth and throat. He cut up the biggest piece and took it home.
His parents said this serpent must have been Yamanokami and he could be cursed, so they threw him out of the home.
The smell of the serpent stuck to his body, but when the doctor gave him some medicine, it vanished.
The doctor told him that this was not a serpent, but a Japanese gecko.
The man was later caught stealing wood from a shrine and sentenced to death. A Raku book...Raku A Legacy Of Japanese Tea Ceramics
A Raku book, edited by Melissa M. Rinne

Raku is one of many low-fired ceramic traditions around the world. Today, the term "raku" is used across America and Europe to denote a kind of low-fired pottery whose technology and aesthetic were inspired by traditional Japanese Raku ware. 'Raku: A Legacy of Japanese Tea Ceramics'
is a catalogue of works in the Raku Museum in Kyoto. The collection contains many of the quintessential masterworks of the over 430-year Raku legacy. Additional works from other collections, mostly those designated as Important Cultural Properties, are included for reference.

http://www.ideabooks.nl/9784861524615-raku-a-legacy-of-japanese-tea-ceramicsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192890093984872273.post-91849383079179166852015-10-19T13:10:10.369+09:002015-10-19T13:10:10.369+09:00kiridansu 桐箪笥 chest from paulownia wood
